Exciting new chapter for Blue Sox

As we embark on an exciting new season, the club is delighted to announce several key developments in our adult team programme.
Managerial Appointments
Shan Henry has been appointed as the new First Team Manager. With extensive experience playing and coaching for the Sheffield Kodiaks and Nottingham Rebels, Shan returns to the Blue Sox for his third stint. This time he will be joined by his sons, Freddy and Jacob on the first team.
Matt Crawshaw takes on the role of Development Team Manager. His focus will be on nurturing new talent and growing the sport within the community.
League and Region Changes
Following a review of our league options, we have made significant changes to ensure our continued growth and competitiveness:
Our First Team will now compete in the expanded BBF Triple-A North Division, alongside the Wragby Warhammers, Manchester A's, Liverpool Trojans, Bootle Trojans, Leeds Locos and Newcastle Nighthawks.
Our newly created Development Team will cater to beginners and improvers, participating in the BBL Development League. This brand new league will include fixtures and tournaments with teams from Newark, Sheffield, Hull, Manchester, Leeds, and Newcastle.
Fixtures
The BBF North Triple-A season starts on Sunday, 27th April, with Leicester traveling to face the Manchester A's. Pre-season games are also being organised, and details will be confirmed soon.
The Development Team will focus on getting game-ready during April and early May. Their first fixture is scheduled for Sunday, 25th May, when they will host the Newark Nationals at Western Park.
Rostering
Recruitment and rostering for both teams are ongoing and we aim to finalise our squads by early April.
