We move into the final week of our #BuildBackBetter campaign having recently gone through the 40% mark with our total pledges now at £1,860!
Both Leicester Blue Sox and Leicester Diamonds have been very active both on and off the field during March.
The Sox returned to Western Park for their beginners and new players tryout day on 6th March, it was a great success with over 15 participants being put through their paces with Head Coach AJ Screti and his coaching team!
The Diamonds have been training all through March on Saturdays (outdoors) and Sundays (indoors). The team is going from strength to strength, and preparing for their first intersquad game on 26th March between “Team Diamond” vs “Team Flame”.
Blue Sox full squad practice has now been running for two weeks, which has attracted large group of players to fill out our first team and development squad in 2022.
The Diamonds sneaked in a personal appearance at a recent Leicester Riders game, and also appointed BethTakingPhotos as their official media partner and Griffin Fit as official health and fitness partner; there really is no stopping them!!
Behind the scenes, we have already used some of the funds raised towards a shipment of unfired clay bricks which will be arriving time for our Western Park field day on Sunday 3rd April. We of course, need to raise more for the remaining areas we are looking improve including baseball dirt, fencing and field levelling.
With just seven days left to go, we need one final push to get to our 50% target, that’s a run rate of just over £50 per day. That’ll get us to £2,250 on 29th March and we then also have a facilities grant bid on the table at BaseballSoftballUK for the remaining 50%.
And if that’s not enough – we also have our amazing Quiz and Chips evening at Lane7 on the 31st March! Hosted by the Leicester Diamonds, we’ve got 5 rounds of quiz and raffle action lined up, with all funds raised going to the #BuildBackBetter totaliser!!
