Blue Sox launch manifesto for 2025 season

Leicester Blue Sox are proud to present our vision and programme for the 2025 season, reflecting our commitment towards fostering talent, promoting inclusivity, as well as enhancing competitive and recreational baseball opportunities in Leicester and across the wider region.

This season our programme will consist of three key pillars:

·      Adult First Team

·      Adult Development Team

·      Blue Sox Kids Programme

Adult First Team

The Leicester Blue Sox Adult First Team will register with the British Baseball Federation (BBF) for the 2025 season, aiming to compete at the highest possible level within the BBF structure.

·      Commitment to Excellence: our goal is to build a strong, competitive team that represents Leicester with pride and performs at a good standard of British baseball.

·      Youth Development Focus: we are excited to integrate exceptional young talent from the GB National Team programme into our roster, continuing our long-standing tradition of developing youth players who have progressed to national and international levels.

Adult Development Team

The Adult Development Team will focus on providing opportunities for new and developing players to grow their skills in a fun and supportive environment.

·      Local Friendly Games: inter-club matches will take place on a regular basis in Leicester, fostering a sense of community within the club.

·      Regional Collaboration: we will work with other clubs across the region to organise development games, either through tournament days or an informal regional league structure.

Blue Sox Kids Programme

Our Blue Sox Kids Baseball Programme will continue to nurture the next generation of baseball talent.

Returning to Stafford Orchard, Quorn in the Spring, we are aiming to run an expanded programme for 6-12 year olds, building on the success of our inaugural programme last year.

·      Saturday morning sessions: our club will be organised into three successive four-week blocks, the first being held ahead of the May half term, the second before the summer holidays and the third during school summer break.

·      Best start in baseball: the programme introduces young players to the fundamentals of baseball in a fun and engaging environment, with a focus on local play.

·      Pathway to Progression: Youth players graduating from the Kids Baseball Programme will have the opportunity to transition into the Adult Development Team, ensuring a seamless pathway for talent development within the club. We will also support exceptional athletes on their journey towards Regional/National Academies and National Teams programmes (both baseball and fastpitch softball).

Community Commitment

Leicester Blue Sox Baseball are dedicated to strengthening connections within the local baseball and fastpitch softball community and beyond. Through our partnerships with other regional clubs, we aim to expand opportunities for all players to grow and enjoy the sport.
