We would like to formally announce the arrangements for this year's AGM, at which the Operations Committee will review the club's activities of the previous 12 months and a new committee will be elected to lead the club into 2020.
The 2019 AGM will take place at 5pm on November 10th, and will be hosted by the club at the King's Head (LE1 6RL).
The AGM is the annual opportunity for the membership to influence the direction of the club, and as such all paid-up members and lifetime members of the club have a vote in Operations Committee elections.
During the meeting appointments for the following committee positions will be elected:- Chairperson, Treasurer, Secretary, Welfare Officer, Volunteer Coordinator, Officials Coordinator, PR, Media and Marketing Officer, and Events and Fundraising Coordinator. Details of the responsibilities of each position can be found below. If you have skills and experience that you feel could help the club (i.e. project management, marketing, media and digital content, finance, human resources) we would especially like to hear from you.

Operations Committee Responsibilities
Chairperson
The Chairperson is the external facing representative of Leicester Blue Sox. This includes representing the club when dealing with the National Governing Bodies (British Baseball Federation, British Softball Federation, BaseballSoftballUK) and with other external partners, such as Leicester City Council, Leicestershire & Rutland Sport, Sport England etc. The Chairperson leads all Operations Committee meetings ensuring they run to time and that the agenda is covered. The Chairperson also oversees the activities of the Operations Committee and provides support in the day to day running of the club.
Secretary
The Secretary is responsible for scheduling Operations Committee and general meetings. The Secretary also collates and circulates the meeting agenda and minutes from the previous meeting. During the meetings, the Secretary will keep minutes of the meeting which they then circulate along with agreed action points.
Treasurer
The Treasurer leads all financial matters relating to the club, and is responsible for:
Production and management of club's annual budget
Assessing and approving club expenditure
Operating club bank accounts
Producing annualised accounts detailing financial performance of club
Welfare Officer
The Welfare Officer plays a crucial safeguarding role within the club as directed by BSUK. The primary responsibilities of the Welfare Officer are to:
Ensure all coaches/volunteers who have regular contact with minors undertake periodic DBS checking
Promote, maintain and enforce the Club Code of Conduct
Report welfare issues to Chairperson, HR and BSUK
Attend committee meetings to highlight welfare considerations
Volunteer Coordinator
The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for managing club personnel. The main responsibilities of the Volunteer Coordinator are:
Volunteer recruitment and management
Training and support of volunteers
Managing complaints and disciplinary matters
Officials Coordinator
The Officials Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the club has a core team of volunteers to umpire and score games, across all sections of the club. In addition, the Officials Coordinator is responsible for organising umpire and scorer training to aid recruitment and improve skills.
PR, Media and Marketing Officer
The PR, Media and Marketing Officer is responsible for creating a positive external profile of the club in the media and attract sponsors. Responsibilities of the PR, Media and Marketing Officer include:
Compiling game reports / press releases for club website and external media
Organising photographers to procure images of players, games and events
Managing the online presence of the club
Identifying new sponsors and opportunities for publicity
Working with Events Coordinator to maximise PR opportunities
Events and Fundraising Coordinator
The Events and Fundraising Coordinator is responsible for identifying opportunities and managing events that can help raise the profile of Leicester Blue Sox, leading fundraising efforts and aid recruitment (i.e. Western Park Festival). Responsibilities of the Events and Fundraising Coordinator include:
Event planning, management and reporting
Identify merchandising opportunities
Leading fundraising efforts within the club, and applications for external funding
